CAMP TOLENTINO, Bataan — Tatlong dating New People’s Army rebels ang sumuko noong Sabado Bataan police office sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Col. Marites A. Salvadora, Bataan police directress.

Sa kanyang ulat kay B/Gen. Rogelio “Pojie” Peñones, Central Luzon police director, sinabi Col. Salvadoda na ang peaceful surrender ng tatlong dating NPA rebels “demonstrated the effectiveness of sustained peacebuilding and community engagement efforts as three former rebels voluntarily surrendered to authorities of the Bataan Police Provincial Office (PPO) with loose firearms.”

“The two voluntarily turned themselves to PNP Members of Abucay under Major John Rhey Cutab, chief of police and 1st Mobile force company wherein they surrendered one improvised shotgun with one live ammunition,” ani Col. Salvadora.

Ayon kay Col. Salvadora, ang isa namang sumuko ay taga-Limay, Bataan, na isang 67-year-old mula sa Barangay Bangal, Dinalupihan, Bataan, dating dating member ng HUKBALAHAP of CPP/NPA/NDF.

Ang surrenderee ay nagsuko ng caliber .38 revolver, two live rounds of ammunition, 40mm explosive, detonating cord at E-match. “This act serves as a strong testament to their full renunciation of support for the CPP-NPA-NDF,” ani Salvadora.

“The Bataan PNP completely supports the surrenderees who have chosen the road of peace and reconciliation with the government. Our local police recognize the courage of individuals who have chosen to lay down their arms and rejoin society, and we are dedicated to guaranteeing their safety, rehabilitation, and successful reintegration into their communities. The Bataan PNP aims to foster peace and security for all Bataeños by assisting former rebels in rebuilding their lives free of violence and extremism,” ang police woman directress.

“To our former rebels, we encourage you to consider the opportunities now being offered by the government—opportunities for peace, rehabilitation, and a better future. The doors to reconciliation and reintegration are open. Together, we can rebuild lives and contribute to a stronger, more united Bataan,” ani Salvadora.

“The Bataan PPO remains committed to adhere with the directive of CPNP, PGEN NICOLAS D TORRE III, emphasizing strong leadership in law enforcement to deliver swift and responsive public service, duly supported by Gen. Penones,” dagdag pa ni Col. Salvadora.
