BIBIGYANG prayoridad ng Kamara de Representantes ang pagpasa ng mga panukala na may kaugnayan sa digitalization.

Ayon kay Speaker Martin G. Romualdez magiging mahalagang sangkap ng pag-unlad ng bansa ang digital transformation sa gobyerno at sa transaksyon ng pribadong sektor.

“We are well on our way in our commitment to support measures that would hasten the country’s digital transformation to enable the government to provide faster and more efficient service to the public and ensure safe and secure digital commercial transactions,” ani Romualdez.

Sa ginanap na Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 29th Leaders’ Meeting (AELM), iginiit ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang pangangailangan na mapaliit ang agwat ng digitalization sa mga bansa sa Asia Pacific Region upang mas dumami ang oportunidad sa pakikipagkalakalan.

Sinabi ni Marcos na gumagawa ng mga hakbang ang kanyang administrasyon upang mapaganda ang digital economy ng bansa.

Ayon kay Romualdez, inaprubahan na ng House Committee on Trade and Industry ang substitute bill ng panukalang Internet Transaction Act o E-Commerce Law, na kabilang sa mga panukala na nabanggit sa State of the Nation Address (SONA) ng Pangulo.

“We are also working equally hard for the passage of the proposed e Government and e-Governance Act, which were also among the priority measures President Marcos enumerated in his SONA,” saad ni Romualdez.

Noong nakaraang linggo ay natapos na ng technical working group ng House Committee on Information and Communications Technology ang mga probisyon ng panukalang e-Governance Act at e-Government Act.

Si Romualdez ang pangunahing may-akda ng E-Governance Act of 2022 (House Bill 3). Kasama nito bilang co-author sina House Senior Deputy Majority Leader at Ilocos Norte Rep. Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” A. Marcos, at Tingog Party-list Reps. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez at Jude Acidre.
