BINIGYAN-DIIN ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez ang kahalagahan na makapagtayo ng mga specialized health care facility sa mga rehiyon ng bansa.

Ayon kay Speaker Romualdez sa kasalukuyan ay nasa Kamaynilaan lamang ang mga specialized hospital kaya lubhang mahirap para sa nakararami na makuha ang serbisyong ito.

“We have specialty hospitals built during the time of the father of President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr., President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., but all of these are in Quezon City. So our people in the regions and in Visayas and Mindanao who need the services of these health facilities will have to travel all the way to Quezon City to avail of their services,” sabi ni Speaker Romualdez.

Ang tinutukoy ni Speaker Romualdez ay ang Philippine Heart Center, National Kidney and Transplant Institute, Lung Center of the Philippines, Philippine Children’s Medical Center, at Philippine Orthopedic Hospital na pawang nasa Quezon City.

Paliwanag ng lider ng Kamara maraming Pilipino ang mayroong sakit sa puso, bato, at baga na pangunahing sanhi ng pagkamatay ng mga Pilipino ngayon.

“So we need more specialty centers, not necessarily rising to the level of a hospital, like those in Quezon City to treat and care for our people requiring specialized health care in the provinces,” ani Speaker Romualdez.

Sa ilalim ng panukala, ang bahagi ng mga ospital na pinatatakbo ng Department of Health (DOH) sa iba’t ibang rehiyon ay lalagyan ng kahit na isang specialized health care facility.

Dahil ilalaan lamang ang bahagi ng ospital sa specialized care, mas magiging mabilis umano ito kumpara sa pagtatayo ng mga bagong ospital.
