NAKAPAGTALA ng pinakamataas na international ridership record ang Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) noong Abril mula ng COVID-19 pandemic.

Ayon sa Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), na siyang nangangasiwa sa NAIA, umabot sa 1,677,779 international passenger at 9,089 international flight ang naitala noong Abril 2023.

Ito ay mahigit doble ng naitala noong Abril 2022 na 663,824 international passenger at 4,494 international flight.

“Summer is indeed a popular time for vacation and international travel, not only for Filipinos taking advantage of airlines’ promotional fares or using travel funds for flights they couldn’t use due to the pandemic, but also for our international visitors wanting to see the Philippines,” ani MIAA Officer-in-Charge Bryan Co.

“After more than two years of closed borders, we expect the momentum of recovery to continue for tourism and the aviation industry,” sabi pa ni Co.

Kung isasama umano ang mga domestic passenger at domestic flight, ang kabuuang naitala sa NAIA noong Abril 2023 ay 3,666,503 pasahero at 22,816 flight.

Sa unang 10 araw ng Abril 2023 ay umabot umano sa 1,178,461 pasahero ang dumating o umalis ng NAIA at iniuugnay ito sa Holy Week break.

Noong Abril 2023, nakapagtala ang MIAA ng average na 75.20% flight on-time performance (OTP), mas maganda kumpara sa 71.24% noong Abril 2022.
