KINILALA ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez ang natatanging serbisyo ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa bansa.

Kasabay nito ay tiniyak ni Speaker Romualdez na suportado ng Kamara de Representantes ang AFP.

“Every time I face men in uniform I have this tinge of jealousy that emanates from admiration for our men and women in uniform. Not only do you look great but you do so many great deeds for our country,” ani Speaker Romualdez.

“And that is why I’m so happy to share with you these moments, thankful, grateful for all that you do. These promotions to your positions are most deserved and the least that we can do for you, for you do so much for all of us,” dagdag pa nito.

Nag-courtesy call kay Speaker Romualdez ang halos 100 opisyal ng AFP bago ang kanilang pagharap sa Commission on Appointment (CA) para sa kumpirmasyon ng kanilang promosyon.

Kasama ni Speaker Romualdez na humarap sa mga opisyal ng AFP sina Majority Leader Manuel Jose “Mannix” Dalipe, Senior Deputy Majority Leader Sandro Marcos, Rep. Jurdin Jesus “JJ” Romualdo, Rep. Raul “Boboy” Tupas, at Rep. Ramon Guico, Jr.

Si Rep. Tupas ang chairperson ng House Committee on National Defense and Security, samantalang si Rep. Guico naman ang namumuno sa contingent ng Kamara sa CA.

Ayon kay Speaker Romualdez minabuti nito na isama ang mga piling opisyal ng Kamara upang marinig ang hinaing at saloobin ng mga opisyal ng AFP at makagawa ng hakbang ang Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso kung kinakailangan.

“You are the standard that we try to emulate. And that is why we always look up to you and that your visit here to the House brings so much honor. You can only begin to imagine how much we truly appreciate your service,” Speaker dagdag pa ni Romualdez.

“Sa dami nyong ginawa, sa sakripisyo nyo, karangalan ko to na ibinibigay ninyo sa akin to honor you and to welcome you here,” dagdag pa ng lider ng Kamara.

Iginiit ni Romualdez na ang Kamara ay katuwang ng AFP sa hangarin na panatilihin ang kapayapaan sa bansa.

“Mabuhay po kayong lahat. Congratulations on the deserved promotions. Your partner in peace and progress, the House of Representatives, will always welcome you here in Batasang Pambansa–the House of the People. Maraming, maraming salamat po,” dagdag pa ni Speaker Romualdez.
