INANUNSYO ng Department of National Defense (DND) ang pagkakatalaga ni Lieutenant General Roy Galido bilang ika-66 commanding general ng Philippine Army.

Sinabi ni DND spokesperson Arsenio Andolong na si Galido ang napili ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

“With Lt. Gen. Galido at the helm, the Philippine Army will undoubtedly and excellently pursue the strategic path set by the Commander-in-Chief in pursuit of the country’s stability amid the changing security landscape,” ani Andolong sa isang pahayag.

Si Galido ay miyembro ng Philippine Military Academy “Bigkis Lahi” Class of 1990.

Siya ay dating commander ng 6th Infantry Division at Western Mindanao Command ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

“His extensive experience and well-honed skills resulted in the significant victories of his Command against lawless elements, especially in Mindanao,” dagdag pa ni Andolong.

Si Galido ang pumalit kay General Romeo Brawner Jr. na nauna ng itinalaga ni Pangulong Marcos bilang chief-of-staff ng AFP.
