BILANG pagtalima sa utos ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na habulin ang mga tax evaders sa bansa, sinampulan ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) ang kompanyang Ever Bilena Cosmetics Inc., ang kompanta na gumagawa ng mga make-up.

Ito ay matapos sampahan ng kasong kriminal sa Department of Justice ni BIR Commissioner Romeo Lumagui Jr. ang Ever Bilena dahil sa hindi pagbabayad ng buwis.

Base sa ulat ng BIR na isinumite sa Preaidential Communications Office, sinabi ni Lumagui na nasa P9. 3 milyon ang total deficiency taxes ng kompanya para sa taxable years mula noong 2018 hanggang 2021.

Sabi ni Lumagi, nilabag ng kompanya ang Sections 254, 255, 267 at 257 ng National Internal Revenue Code of 1997, as amended.

“BIR records of investigation showed that Ever Bilena made it appear that it had millions of purchases in the years 2018 and 2021. When, in truth and in fact, there were no such transactions and its purchases were based on non-existent goods/services from a Ghost Company. Thus, fictitious and anomalous. As a result of this imaginary/fictitious transactions, Ever Bilena was able to declare purchases which are almost equal to its sales,” pahayag ng BIR.

Nabatid na ito na ang ika-23 kaso na naisampa ng BIR sa ilalim ng Run After Fake Transactions Program.
