ISANG world-class cancer treatment facility ang itatayo sa Quezon City, salamat sa dedikasyon at suporta nina Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, House Committee on Appropriations Chairman Zaldy Co ng Ako Bicol Partylist, at iba pang opisyal ng gobyerno.

Ipinahayag ni Philippine Cancer Center Director Alfonso Nuñez III ang kanyang pasasalamat sa administrasyong Marcos at sa Kongreso sa isinagawang groundbreaking ceremony para sa pagtatayo ng 20 palapag na Cancer Center building isa Quezon City.

“Today marks the beginning of a commitment to ensure world-class cancer treatment within the reach of every Filipino,” ani Nuñez sa kanyang talumpati.

“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the present administration and government for prioritizing healthcare initiatives and providing visionary leadership,” sabi pa nito.

Kinilala rin ni Nunez ang mahalagang papel nina Speaker Romualdez, Co, at iba pang miyembro ng Kamara de Representantes upang mahanapan ng pondo ang pagtatayo ng gusali na magiging mahalaga sa paglaban sa kanser.

“To the Speaker of the House, Speaker Romualdez, to the Congress, to our Chief Executives, and the Department of Health, your unwavering advocacy and resource allocation have made this dream a reality,” sabi ni Nuñez.

Pinasalamatan din ni Nuñez ang iba pang stakeholder gaya ng National Integrated Cancer Control Council, mga medical society, at patient advocates para sa kani-kanilang naging ambag upang matupad ang inaasam na specialty hospital para sa mga may kanser.

“With our combined efforts and aspirations, we hold firm in our belief that the Philippine Cancer Center will pave the way towards a future where every Filipino facing cancer is provided with the care, support, and hope they rightfully deserve,” dagdag pa ni Nuñez.

Ang Cancer Center ang kokompleto sa medical complex na sinimulan ng administrasyon ni dating Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Sr. Nasa lugar ang National Kidney and Transplant Institute, Philippine Heart Center, Lung Center, at ang Philippine Children’s Medical Center.

Pinuri ni Menchie Auste-Sarmiento, vice president ng Cancer Coalition Philippines at CEO ng Cancer Warriors Foundation ang pagtatayo ng Philippine Cancer Center na mayroon umanong potensyal na maging “legacy project” ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos.

Kuwento ni Auste-Sarmiento ang unang pangarap ay magtayo ng anim na palapag na gusali pero ngayon 20 palapag ang itatayong istruktura, isa umanong patunay ng kahalagahan ng pagkakaroon ng komprehensibong cancer care sa bansa.

Kinilala rin ni Auste-Sarmiento sina Speaker Romualdez at Chairman Co na tinawag nitong stalwart cancer “champions” sa lehislatura dahil sa kanilang mahalagang papel upang maisulong ang mahalagang healthcare initiative na ito.

Ang iba pang opisyal na dumalo sa ground breaking ceremony ay sina Deputy Majority Leader at Iloilo Rep. Janette Garin, dating kalihim ng Department of Health; Quezon City Reps.
