HANDA na ang Senado para kina Sheila Guo at Katherine Cassandra Li Ong, ang dalawang assistants ng tumakas na mayor ng Bamban, Tarlac na si Alice Guo.

Siniguro ni Senate Sergeant-at-Arms chief Roberto Ancan ang kahandaan ng Senato sa pagtanggap kina Sheila Guo, kapatid ni Mayor Alice, at ang kasama nitong si Li Ong, na sinasabing isa sa mga boss ng Lucky South 99 Outsourcing Inc. at Corporate Secretary din ng Whirlwind Corporation ang Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGOs) na siyang target ng imbestigasyon ng Senado tungkol sa mga operasyon nito sa Porac, Pampanga at Bamban, Tarlac.

Lalahukan ng iba’t-ibang komite ang pagdinig, ayon kay Ancan.

“The hearing will be conducted by the Senate Committee on Justice and Human Rights chaired by Senate Minority Leader Aquilino Pimentel III as the primary committee and the Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations and Gender Equality led by Senate Deputy Minority Leader Risa Hontiveros and the Senate Committee on Public Services chaired by Senator Raffy Tulfo will be the secondary and tertiary committees, respectively, to tackle the privilege speech urging the DFA to cancel Alice Guo’s Passport,” ayon kay Ancan.

Ang National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) ang nanigurado na dadalhim nila sila Guo at Li Ong sa araw ng pagdinig sa Senado.

Ayon naman kay Senate President Francis Escudero, umaasa siyang madadakip rin si Alice Guo ng mga ahensiya ng gobyerno upang humarap at managot sa batas.

“Given the embarassment this brought to the Bureau of Immigration, I expect them to be more proactive in making up for the misfeasance/malfeasance that resulted in the departure of persona with outstanding warrant of arrest,” ani Escudero.

Para kay Sen. Loren Legarda, ang pagka aresto kay Guo at Li Ong unang hakbang para makita ang katotohanan sa likod ng operasyon ng POGO na kinabibilangan ng mga ito.
