Alert status ng Bulkang Taal itinaas
ITINAAS ng Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) ang alert status ng Bulkang Taal.
Mula sa Alert Level 2 (increasing unrest) ay iniakyat na ito sa Alert Level 3 (magmatic unrest) matapos magkaroon ng maikling phreatomagmatic burst alas-7:22 ng umaga ngayong Sabado.
“This means that there is magmatic intrusion at the Main Crater that may further drive succeeding eruptions,” sabi ng PHIVOLCS.
Nagkaroon ng serye ng phreatomagmatic activity na kasabay ng usok na umabot sa 1.5 kilometro ang taas, volcanic earthquake at dagundong na tunog.
Inirekomenda ng PHIVOLCS ang evacuation sa Taal Volcano Island at mga barangay na malapit sa bulkan.
“The public is reminded that the entire Taal Volcano Island is a Permanent Danger Zone (PDZ), and entry into the island as well as high-risk barangays of Agoncillo and Laurel must be prohibited.
