BUO ang suporta ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez sa naging desisyon ng Quad Committee ng Kamara de Representantes na kanselahan ang nakatakdang pagdinig ngayong Huwebes upang maituon ang atensyon ng mga mambabatas sa pagtulong sa mga nasalanta ng bagyong Kristine.

Iginiit ni Speaker Romualdez ang kahalagahan na ang mga opisyal ng gobyerno, kasama ang mga miyembro ng Kamara ay kasama ng kanilang mga constituent sa mga kritikal na panahon.

“We welcome the decision of the Quad Comm as announced by Chairman Ace Barbers. Ang atensyon dapat natin ngayon ay kung paano makakatulong sa ating mga kababayang nasalanta ng bagyo,” ani Speaker Romualdez.

“It will allow our representatives to be where they are most needed – among their people, providing immediate aid and relief. In moments like this, it is imperative that we set aside our legislative duties to prioritize the welfare of our fellow Filipinos,” saad ng lider ng Kamara na mayroong mahigit 300 miyembro.

Kinilala rin ni Speaker Romualdez ang mabilis na aksyon ng Kamara kaya nabuo ang P411 milyong halaga ng tulong na ipadadala sa mga nasalanta.

“This financial assistance is just the beginning of our efforts to help our kababayans recover from this disaster as instructed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.,” ani Speaker Romualdez.

“The resources we have mobilized reflect our commitment to respond promptly and with urgency to the needs of those displaced and affected by Typhoon Kristine. We are doing everything in our power to make sure help reaches the most vulnerable,” dagdag pa nito.

Matatandaan na nakipag-ugnayan si Speaker Romualdez upang agad na makapagpalabas ng P390 milyong halaga ng cash assistance sa 22 distrito na apektado ng bagyo sa Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, CALABARZON, at MIMAROPA, gayundin sa apat na party-list representative na nakabase sa mga rehiyong ito.

Sinabi ni House Deputy Secretary General Sofonias “Ponyong” P. Gabonada na ang Office of the Speaker at Tingog Party-list ay naghanda ng tig-2,500 relief pack para sa bawat kinatawan o kabuuang 62,500 pack na nagkakahalaga ng mahigit P21 milyon na mula sa Speaker Disaster Relief Funds upang matulungan ang mga nasalanta ng bagyo,

Mayroon din umanong bukod na relief mission si Ako Bicol Partylist Rep.Zaldy Co, chairman ngHouse Committee on Appropriations.

“Ngayon ang tamang panahon para magkaisa tayo bilang isang bansa, kailangan nating lahat magtulungan. Bayanihan ang sagot dito. We call on every Filipino, from all sectors, to contribute what they can to support those in need. The recovery and rebuilding process will take time, and everyone’s participation is vital,” sabi ni Speaker Romualdez.

“What we need is a ‘whole-of-nation approach’ to rebuild lives and communities. This includes not just government intervention but also collaboration from the private sector, NGOs and ordinary citizens. Together, we can get through this,” wika pa nito.

Tiniyak ng lider ng Kamara na patuloy ang isasagawa nitong pagbabantay, maglalaan ng pondo at gagawa ng batas kung kinakailangan para sa mabilis na pagbangon ng mga nasalanta.

“Rest assured that we are prepared to provide further assistance should the situation escalate or should more help be needed. We are constantly coordinating with national and local agencies to ensure that relief efforts are ongoing and sustained,” saad pa ni Speaker Romualdez.

“Sa mga pamilyang nawalan ng tirahan at kabuhayan, palagi kayong nasa aming mga dasal. The House of Representatives, along with the whole nation, stands with you. We are ready to assist in any way we can.”
