FL Liza Marcos pinangunahan Int’l Conference on Women, Peace, Security
Mismong si First Lady Liza Marcos ang nag-welcome sa mga delegado sa tatlong araw na International Conference on Women, Peace, and Security (ICWPS) sa Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) sa Pasay City.
Ayon kay First Lady Marcos, nakatutuwa na sa Pilipinas ginawa ang kauna-unahang international conference sa Southeast Asia.
โSince this summit is about women, my husband (President) Ferdinand Marcos Jr. asked me to personally convey our welcome and to let you know that the Philippines is honored to host a conference of this significance and stature,” pahayag ni First Lady Marcos.
Hinikayat pa ni First Lady Marcos ang mga participants na aktibong makilahok at magbahagi ng karanasan sa pagpapatupad sa WPS agenda sa kani-kanilang bansa.
โI hope to hear your different experiences on how your countries have been working to move this agenda forward,” pahayag ni First Lady Marcos.
Inimbitahan din ni First Lady Marcos ang mga participants na bisitahin ang mga magagandang lugar at maranasan ang Filipino hospitality.
“While I am sure you have a lot of hard work ahead, I urge you to take some time to enjoy our beautiful city and our people’s warm hospitality,” pahayag ni First Lady Marcos.
Ang ICWPS ay magsisilbing platform para tugunan ang implementasyon ng United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325, na una at legal document na sinunod noong October 2000 para kilalalnin ang papel at pangangailangan ng mga kababaihan na nasa conflict prevention, resolution at peacebuilding.
