HINDI hinaharang ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang impeachment complaint laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte.

Ito ang ginawang paglilinaw ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin sa gitna ng pahayag ng Makabayan bloc na nakikialam si Pangulong Marcos sa tangkang pagpapatalsik sa puwesto kay Duterte.

Sa press conference sa Pasay City, sinabi ni Bersamin na inihahayag lamang ni Pangulong Marcos ang kanyang opinyon na pag-aaaksaya lamang ng panahon ang impeachment complaint laban kay Duterte.

“He (Marcos) is not blocking. He cannot do that because it is the discretion of the collective of the lower house. If they decide to initiate, there is no way of preventing that,” pahayag ni Bersamin.

Karapatan aniya ng mga kongresista na iindorso sa plenaryo ang impeachment complaint.

“You know, that under the constitution, the impeachment must emanate from the lower house, okay? Now, if the President has made the statement at all, about that process, it is only an opinion that he stated because he probably the thinking of the President is that might be distracting us from our agenda or our move forward,” pahayag ni Bersamin.

“We cannot dictate on the lower house. It is co-equal, belongs to a co-equal branch of government. All we were saying, the President was saying to the lower house, this is my position,” dagdag ni Bersamin.

Tatlong impeachment complaint ang nakahain ngayon sa Kamara laban kay Duterte dahil sa paglabag sa Konstitusyon, betrayal of public trust, plunder at malversation, bribery, graft at corruption, at iba pang high crimes.
