PINASALAMATAN ng mga lider ng Kamara de Representantes si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr. sa pagrespeto nito sa konstitusyonal na tungkulin ng Kongreso na tugunan ang mga reklamong impeachment laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte.

Ibinasura nina Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales Jr., Deputy Speaker David “Jay-Jay” Suarez at House Majority Leader Manuel Jose “Mannix” M. Dalipe ang mga alegasyon na nakialam ang Pangulo sa pag-usad ng impeachment complaint laban kay Duterte.

Inulit nila ang naging pahayag ng Chief Presidential Legal Counsel na si Juan Ponce Enrile na kapag mayroong naisampang impeachment complaint, tungkulin ng Kongreso na kumilos.

“This isn’t about politics; it’s about upholding our constitutional duty,” ani Gonzales.

Ayon pa sa kinatawan ng Pampanga 3rd District: “The Constitution is clear—once a complaint is filed, Congress cannot simply ignore it. We follow the law, not personal agendas.”

Ipinunto naman ni Suarez, na kumakatawan sa 2nd District ng Quezon province, na hindi ang mga kaalyado ng administrasyon ang nagpasimula ng impeachment kundi ang mga grupong nasa labas ng koalisyon ng Pangulo.

“The President discouraged impeachment because the country has bigger priorities. But three complaints were filed—not by us. The moment they reached Congress, we had no choice but to proceed,” sabi ni Suarez.

Mariing itinanggi ni Pangulong Marcos ang anumang papel sa proseso ng impeachment, at sinuportahan ng mga lider ng Kamara ang kanyang pahayag na ang Kongreso ay kumikilos independently.

“The notion that nothing moves in Congress without the President’s approval is pure fiction,” ani Dalipe.

“We do not take orders from Malacañang. The House is an independent branch of government,” dagdag pa ng kinatawan ng ikalawang distrito ng Zamboanga City.

Pinabulaanan din ng Pangulo ang ideya na siya ang nagpapagalaw sa proseso at sinabing hindi siya nagbibigay ng mga utos sa Kongreso at ang mga mambabatas ay may sariling mandato at proseso.

Ipinagtanggol din ng mga mambabatas si Senior Deputy Majority Leader at Ilocos Norte 1st District Rep. Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos, anak ng Pangulo, laban sa mga batikos dahil siya ang unang lumagda sa reklamo ng impeachment.

“This isn’t about who signed first or last. Every congressman has a duty to act, and Congressman Sandro Marcos did what any lawmaker would do in this situation,” sabi ni Suarez.

Pinabulaanan din ang mga alegasyon na ang mga mambabatas ay binayaran upang lumagda sa Articles of Impeachment.

“The President himself exposed how laughable this claim is,” sabi ni Gonzales. “He was a congressman and a senator. He knows how this process works. The idea of distributing millions to over 200 lawmakers is pure fantasy.”

Matapos ma-impeach ng Kamara si Duterte, nakatingin ngayon ang publiko sa Senado na siyang magsasagawa ng impeachment trial.

Nagpahayag ang Pangulo na bukas ito sa pagsasagawa ng special session para masimulan ang impeachment trial kung ito ay hihilingin ng Senado.

“The House has carried out its mandate. If the Senate calls for a special session, we’re ready. The next move is theirs,” saad pa ni Dalipe.

Sa kabila ng kaguluhang pampulitika, tiniyak ni Suarez sa publiko na patuloy na nakatutok ang Kongreso sa economic recovery, social programs at national security.

“The impeachment process will not derail our work. The House will continue prioritizing the nation’s urgent needs,” wika pa ni Suarez.

Nangako ang mga lider ng Kamara na mananaig ang due process sa pulitika at patuloy nilang kikilalanin ang Konstitusyon.
