WALA pang natatanggap na opisyal na kopya ang Kamara de Representantes kaugnay ng inihaing petisyon sa Supeme Court (SC) na kumukuwestiyon sa impeachment complaint na inihain laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte.

Ito ay ayon kay House Secretary-General Reginald “Reggie” S. Velasco.

“We are aware of the two petitions filed before the Supreme Court challenging the validity and constitutionality of the impeachment complaint filed and transmitted to the Senate,” pahayag ni Velasco.

Sinabi ni Velasco na nalaman lamang nila ang tungkol sa mga petisyon base na rin sa mga ulat ng media.

“We came to know about the petitions through the various media outlets.”

Dahil dito, ani Velasco, hindi pa maaaring magbigay ng opisyal na pahayag ang Kamara tungkol sa usapin.

“Considering that we have not received copies of any of these petitions, we are constrained to wait until we are furnished copies before we respond to any query on the matter,” dagdag pa niya.

Binigyang-diin din ni Velasco na sinunod ng Kamara ang lahat ng itinakdang proseso sa Saligang Batas sa pagsasagawa ng impeachment.

“The House of Representatives ensured compliance with all constitutional requirements when it filed the Articles of Impeachment and transmitted it to the Senate,” aniya.

Noong Pebrero 5, inaprubahan ng Kamara ang impeachment complaint laban kay VP Duterte dahil sa mga alegasyon ng pakikipagsabwatan upang ipapatay si Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., malawakang katiwalian, at iba pang akusasyon. Matapos ito, ipinasa sa Senado ang Articles of Impeachment para sa paglilitis.

Nakatakdang magsimula ang Senado bilang impeachment court, para sa paglilitis sa mga darating na buwan.
