ANG 5.4% gross domestic product (GDP) growth na naitala ng Pilipinas sa unang quarter ng 2025 ay malinaw umanong indikasyon na ang ekonomiya ng bansa ay nasa matatag at mahusay na pamumuno sa ilalim ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos Jr., ayon kay Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez.

“This growth means more than just numbers. It means jobs, livelihood, and greater economic activity in our communities,” ani Speaker Romualdez. “The economy is moving—and it’s moving in the right direction, because the President’s policies are working not only for investors and big businesses but more importantly for ordinary Filipinos.”

Sinabi ni Speaker Romualdez na ang 5.4% GDP growth—na kapantay ng China at mas mataas kaysa sa Indonesia at Malaysia—ay nangangahulugan ng mas maraming oportunidad para sa trabaho, mas matibay na suporta sa maliliit na negosyo, mas mataas na pampublikong pamumuhunan sa imprastraktura at agrikultura, at mas mahusay na serbisyo mula sa pamahalaan na pinopondohan ng tumataas na kita.

“As more sectors grow, from manufacturing to construction, logistics, tourism, and digital services, we are seeing more hiring, more spending, and more money circulating in our barangays and local economies,” ayon pa kay Speaker Romualdez. “Ibig sabihin po nito, mas maraming trabaho, mas mataas ang kumpiyansa ng negosyo, at mas marami ang inaasahang benepisyo para sa bawat pamilyang Pilipino.”

Binigyang-diin ni Speaker Romualdez na ipagpapatuloy ng House of Representatives ang pagpasa ng mga batas na kaayon ng 8-Point Socioeconomic Agenda ni Pangulong Marcos, lalo na ang mga layuning tiyakin ang seguridad sa pagkain, digital transformation, sustainability ng enerhiya, at proteksyong panlipunan.

“We are determined to make sure that this growth reaches every Filipino home—from the farmers in the provinces, to workers in the cities, to small entrepreneurs trying to recover from the pandemic,” ayon kay Speaker Romualdez.

Nauna nang inihayag ng International Monetary Fund (IMF) na tinatayang aabot sa 5.5% ang full-year growth ng Pilipinas sa 2025, na halos kasunod ng 5.6% expansion noong 2024.

Ang performance ng bansa sa unang quarter ay patunay na nasa tamang landas ang administrasyong Marcos upang maabot ang mga forecast na ito.
