KASAMA si House Speaker Ferdinand “Martin” Gomez Romualdez sa delagation ni President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. na magtutungo sa Estados Unidos (US) para dumalo sa 77th United Nation (UN) General Assembly sa New York City.

Sinabi ni Speaker Romualdez bago tumulak patungong US na umaasa siyang magiging matagumpay ang pagpunta ni Pangulong Marcos sa Amerika. Kagaya ng naging tagumpay nito sa kaniyang pagbisita sa Indonesia at Singapore.

Kung saan, sinabi pa ng House Speaker na ito’y nagresulta sa $14 bilyong “supply at investment pledges” mula sa mga negosyanteng Indonesian at Singaporean.

“I expect the US visit to reap a lot of benefits for our country and the more than four million Filipinos and Filipino-Americans living or working in America,” sabi pa ni Romualdez.

Idinagdag pa ng House Speaker na ang US ay matatawag na “significant source of investments” kung kaya’t inaasahan na magiging produktibo at matagumpay ang pagbisita ng Pangulo sa Estados Unidos.

“The US is also the biggest source of remittances from overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and Filipino-Americans,” dagdag pa ni Romualdez.

Ayon kay Romualdez, “They contribute a significant part to the amount of foreign exchange our country and economy need each year, and especially this year when we are recovering from the crippling COVID-19 pandemic”.
