NILINAW ng Department of Education (DepEd) ang kumakalat na impormasyon sa social media kaugnay ng kawalan ng nakalaang budget para sa special education (SPED) o pag-aaral ng mga may kapansanan para sa 2023.

Sa pahayag na inilabas ng ahensya, sinabi ng DepEd na humingi ito ng P532 milyon para sa SPED sa ilalim ng panukalang 2023 national budget.

“Unfortunately, despite our earnest efforts to advocate for our learners with special needs, it was not considered in the National Expenditure Program (NEP). This is true for two other programs that were excluded from the NEP,” sabi ng DepEd.

Ayon sa DepEd hindi totoo ang pinakakalat na impormasyon sa social media na sinadya ng ahensya na alisan ng budget ang SPED program.

Makikipagtulungan umano ang DepEd sa mga miyembro ng Kongreso upang mahanapan ng pondo ang SPED.

“This statement is released with the hope of clarifying and addressing malicious and misleading reports that DepEd deliberately excluded funding for the Special Education Program,” sabi ng DepEd.
