NAHARANG ng mga tauhan ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) ang pagpasok ng P350,000 halaga ng cannabis-infused vapes sa Port of Clark.

Ang shipment ay galing umano sa Estados Unidos at dumating sa bansa noong Agosto 26. Idineklara itong “Home Decor Lift Top End Table with Charging Station and Wheels, Sofa Side Table with USB Port + AC Outlets, Movable Bedside Nightstand.”

Pero sa nakita sa X-ray Inspection Project scanner ang kahina-hinalang laman ng package kaya isinailalim ito sa inspeksyon ng K-9 unit.

Binuksan ang package para sa 100% physical inspection noong Agosto 29 at narekober sa loob ang 200 piraso ng cannabis-infused disposable vape na mayroong iba’t ibang brand.

Nagsalang ng sample nito sa Customs’ Rigaku Spectrometer Reader at nakita ang presenya ng cannabinoids. Ipinadala rin ito sa Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) para sa chemical laboratory analysis at nakumpirma na marijuana ang laman nito.

Nagpalabas ng Warrant of Seizure and Detention laban sa package kaugnay ng paglabag sa Section 118(g), 119(d), at 1113 paragraphs f, i, at l (3 and 4) ng R.A. No. 10863 o ang Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA), kaugnay ng Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

“Our vigilant efforts at the ports are crucial in the fight against drug trafficking. We remain resolute in our mission to disrupt these illegal activities and ensure that those involved face the full force of the law,” sabi ni Commissioner Rubio.
