IPINAABOT ni Chinese President Xi Jinping ang kanyang pagbati kay president frontrunner Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. sa pagkapanalo nito sa katatapos na eleksyon.

Dinala ni Huang Xilian, Ambassador ng China sa Philippines kay Marcos ang congratulatory letter mula kay President Xi.

“I am honored to forward the congratulatory message from H.E. President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China on your elections as president of the Republic of the Philippines,” sabi ni Huang.

Hangad umano ng China ang pagpapatuloy ng maayos na ugnayan at relasyon nito sa Pilipinas.

Nauna rito, pinuri ni Zhao Lijian, Foreign Ministry spokesperson ng China ang maayos na pagdaraos ng halalan sa bansa.

“China congratulates the Philippines on the smooth presidential election. Our congratulations also go to the leading candidates. We hope and believe that various political forces in the Philippines will continue to work in solidarity for national renewal and development,” sabi ni Zhao.

Sa unofficial count ay mahigit 31 milyon na ang botong nakuha ni Marcos samantalang ang pinakamalapit na kalaban nitong si Vice President Leni Robredo ay nakapagtala lamang ng 14 milyon.
