GSIS donates P.4M digital learning tools to Leyte school
THE Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has donated ₱400,000 worth of digital learning tools recently to Anahao Primary School in Bontoc, Southern Leyte.
“This goes beyond providing equipment. Each device symbolizes hope and our belief that every Filipino child, no matter how remote, deserves equal access to quality education,” said GSIS President and General Manager Wick Veloso.
The upland public school is the latest beneficiary of the GSIS Adopt-a-School Program, which supports remote schools with limited access to educational technology.
The donation includes three laptops, three 50-inch UHD TVs, four printers, and seven tablets with pens. These tools are expected to boost digital instruction in a school where teachers previously relied on personal devices to conduct lessons.
Anahao Primary School has 41 students, half of whom are beneficiaries of the 4Ps program. With only three teachers and one school head, the school operates under a multi-grade setup and has long struggled with the lack of modern teaching tools.
“This is more than a donation. It’s a message of hope and solidarity. We are deeply grateful to GSIS for standing with us in our mission to give our children the quality education they deserve,” said School Head Ronillo Arguelles.
The initiative also supports the Department of Education’s literacy and numeracy campaign Bayang Bumabasa, Bawat Bata Bumabasa, Bawat Bata Marunong Magkwenta by enhancing lesson planning, classroom engagement, and access to digital learning.
The equipment was formally turned over by GSIS Maasin Branch Manager Edel Mae Magbanua and GSIS Corporate Social Advocacies Manager Ryan Palad.
