IPINAG-UTOS ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang pagbuo ng Inter-Agency Committee on Inflation and Market Outlook (IAC-IMO) upang bantayan ang pagtaas ng presyo ng mga bilihin.

Ayon sa Executive Order (EO) No. 28 na pinirmahan ng Pangulo, ang IAC-EMO ang magsisilbing advisory body ng Economic Development Group (EDG) na gagawa ng mga hakbang upang matiyak na ang pagtaas ng presyo ng mga bilihin ay hindi lalagpas sa inaasahan ng gobyerno.

“In view of the increasing prices of key commodities, particularly food and energy resources, the creation of an advisory body to the EDC, tasked to directly address inflation, will strengthen the EDC, and reinforce existing government initiatives aimed to improve the economy and the quality of life of the Filipino people,” sabi sa EO.

Pinalitan din ng EO ng pangalan ang Economic Development Cluster (EDC) at ginawang Economic Development Group (EDG) kasabay ng reorganisasyon nito.

“There is a need to reorganize the EDC to ensure that the integration of programs, activities, and priorities toward sustained economic growth remains efficient and effective,” sabi pa sa EO.

Ang IAC-EMO ay bubuohin ng National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Secretary bilang Chair; Finance Secretary bilang Co-Chair; Budget Secretary bilang Vice-Chair; at mga kalihim ng Agriculture, Energy, Science and Technology, Trade, at Interior departments bilang mga miyembro.
