BILANG bahagi ng pagdiriwang ng International Chess Day sa susunod na buwan, isusulong ng Professional Chess Association of the Philippines (PCAP) ang Inter-School chess championship ngayong July 8, 9, 15 at 16.

Inaasahan ni PCAP president- commissioner Atty. Paul Elauria na lalahukan ng mga pangunahing universities at colleges ang four-day competition, na naglalayong itaguyod ang top-level chess sa mga student-players.

Sinabi din ni Atty. Elauria na ang naturang kumpetisyon ay bahagi ng worldwide celebrations ng International Chess Day sa July 20.

“We expect to see the best and the brightest young chess players from the country’s leading universities and colleges to participate in the PCAP Inter-School next month,” pahayag ni Atty. Elauria.

Samantala, tinukoy ni PCAP chairman Michael Angelo Chua ang kahalagahan ng PCAP Inter-School sa ginagawang paghahanda ng mga teams paraxsa kani-ksnilang.mga school leagues.”

Inihayag din ni Chua, na siyang team owner ng two-time PCAP champion San Juan Predators, na nag-desisyon ang PCAP na limitahan ng kanila regular three-conference format at gawing two
conferences na lamang u0ang magb8gay daan sa inter-aschool tournament.

Bukod sa Inter-School Championship sa July, inihahanda din ng PCAP ang Inter-Commercial League sa August at ang pinakahihintay na PCAP Wesley So Cup sa September.

“After the PCAP First Conference won by the Pasig Pirates of Mayor Vico Sotto and coach Franco Camillo, we are moving on with more tournaments in the second hslf of the year,” dagdag pa ni Elauria.
