MAGTUTULONG-TULONG ang Kamara de Representantes at mga economic manager ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. upang makagawa ng hakbang na makatutulong upang makontrol ang pagtaas ng presyo ng mga bilihin.

Ito ang sinabi ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez sa briefing na ibinigay ng mga miyembro ng Development Budget Coordination Committee (DBCC) sa House Committee on Appropriations kaugnay ng epekto ng inflation sa mga programa at proyekto ng gobyerno.

“Of course, one of the pressing issues (facing the economy and the nation) is the inflation rate. This is a global phenomenon. But again, hearing from you (today) would be a very, very good thing for us to prioritize. Again, I reiterate the Congress’ willingness to work hand-in-hand, to be marching in lockstep with the executive in pursuing the solutions to the economic challenges that the country faces,” sabi ni Speaker Romualdez.

Nauna ng sinabi ni Pangulong Marcos na inaasahan na bababa na ang inflation rate sa malapit na hinaharap.

“That’s what I lose sleep every night over – how to bring down inflation,” sabi ng Pangulo.

Mismong si Speaker Romualdez ang humiling sa Appropriations committee na magsagawa ng oversight hearing para magtulong ang Kongreso at mga economic manager sa paghahanap ng solusyon sa mga problemang kinakaharap ng ekonomiya.

“We are here together to see how we can work hand-in-hand and we’d like to very much hear from our economic managers how we can engage and make sure that our functions here in the Congress would become more meaningful, more responsive to the needs of the Filipino people,” sabi ni Romualdez.

“This is our mission, thus is the order of our President, Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., to make sure that the lives of Filipino people are much better, that they be more comfortable, safer,” dagdag pa ni Speaker Romualdez.

Nagpasalamat din si Speaker Romualdez sa mga miyembro ng DBCC na sina Finance Sec. Benjamin Diokno, Budget Sec. Amenah Pangandaman, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Gov. Felipe Medalla, at National Economic and Development Authority Director General Arsenio Balisacan sa pagbibigay ng briefing sa Kamara.

“We look forward to more of these meetings and engagements,” sabi pa ni Speaker Romualdez.
