ISINUMITE na ng Kamara de Representantes noong Biyernes ang mga hinihinging dagdag na impormasyon ng Korte Suprema at iginiit na ang inihaing impeachment case laban kay Vice President Sara Duterte ay sumunod sa Konstitusyon.

Ayon kay House spokesperson Atty. Princess Abante, ang Office of the Solicitor General (OSG), na tumatayong legal na kinatawan ng Kamara, ang nagsumite ng mga impormasyong hinihingi ng Korte Suprema sa pamamagitan ng Philippine Judiciary Portal at binigyan din ng kopya ang iba pang partido.

Isang pisikal na kopya ang pormal na isusumite sa Korte Suprema sa Lunes, dagdag pa ni Abante.

“The House of Representatives, through its counsel, the Office of the Solicitor General, filed Friday its compliance to the Supreme Court’s directive to provide information on the impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte,” ani Abante.

Sa isinumiteng dokumento, iginiit ng Kamara na ang lahat ng apat na impeachment complaints ay dumaan sa proseso alinsunod sa mga mandato ng Saligang Batas.

Ipinaliwanag ni Abante na ang tatlong naunang reklamo ay naisama sa Order of Business sa loob ng 10 session days alinsunod sa itinakda ng Konstitusyon.

“The fourth complaint, signed and verified by more than one-third of House Members, effectively constituted the Articles of Impeachment and was transmitted directly to the Senate, rendering the earlier complaints moot and subject to archiving,” aniya.

Ang Articles of Impeachment, na inendorso ng 215 miyembro ng Kamara at malawakang inaprubahan ng plenaryo noong Pebrero 5, 2025, ay nagsasakdal kay Duterte ng katiwalian, panunuhol, pagtataksil sa tiwala ng publiko, at iba pang mabibigat na krimen.

Kabilang sa mga paratang ang umano’y maling paggamit ng P612.5 milyon na confidential funds sa ilalim ng Office of the Vice President habang siya ay sabay na nagsisilbing Kalihim ng Edukasyon, ang hindi paggalang sa congressional oversight, at ang kabiguang tiyakin ang supremacy ng sibilyan sa pulis at militar.

Muling tiniyak ni Abante na ang mga karapatan ni Pangalawang Pangulo Duterte ay nananatiling protektado sa ilalim ng impeachment process.

“We reiterate that the Vice President’s right to due process is fully preserved through the impeachment trial itself—where she will have the opportunity to defend herself and present evidence,” aniya.

Sa isinumiteng compliance, iginiit din ng Kamara ang eksklusibong kapangyarihan nito sa mga panloob na deliberasyon, batay sa prinsipyo ng separation of powers.

“In the Compliance, the House also emphasized that, with the utmost respect for the Supreme Court, it was asserting its exclusive authority over its internal deliberative functions, an authority grounded on the fundamental principle of separation of powers and the legislature’s status as a co-equal branch of government,” ani Abante.

“There is no constitutional requirement detailing how individual members must review the complaint before signing, nor is there any basis for questioning their certification under oath that they studied and understood the charges and supporting documents,” dagdag pa niya.

Binigyang-diin ni Abante na nananatiling tapat ang Kamara sa Saligang Batas at integridad ng institusyon.

“The House remains committed to transparency, constitutional fidelity, and upholding the rule of law. We trust that the Supreme Court will accord the same deference to the prerogatives of a co-equal branch of government as enshrined in our democratic framework,” aniya.

Nauna nang inatasan ng Korte Suprema ang Senado at Kamara na magsumite ng sworn information at dokumento ukol sa kung paano pinroseso ang mga reklamo, kabilang na ang mga tanong hinggil sa takdang panahon, mga hakbangin at partisipasyon ng mga miyembro.

Hindi pa sinisimulan ng Senado ang aktwal na paglilitis.
