HINIKAYAT ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang mga local chief executives na palakasin pa ang information campaign sa mpox.

Sa talumpati ni Pangulong Marcos sa Local Governance Summit 2024 sa Pasay City, sinabi nito na hindi lamang mpox ang dapat na tutukan kundi maging ang tumataas na kaso ng leptospirosis dengue, at iba lang uri ng sakit.

“So, I urge you all to lead aggressive information dissemination campaign to promote a healthy lifestyle and prevent diseases, such as a campaign to remind our people, especially children, against swimming in flood waters and to practice [proper] personal hygiene to mitigate the spread of leptospirosis, mpox, and any other illnesses,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.

Dapat din aniyang pangunahan ng LGUs ang information drive sa pagtataguyod ng healthy lifestyles para makaiwas sa sakit.

Pinatutukan din ng Pangulo sa LGUs ang basura.

“Local chief executives must work harder to utilize environmentally-sound methods and waste minimization measures to protect public health and of course, our environment,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.

Tinukoy ng Pangulo ang KALINISAN Program ng Department of Interior and Local Government na nakstutok sa basura.

“The KALINISAN Program led by our DILG reflects our earnest efforts in improving our waste disposal and management to ensure a clean, healthy, and safe environment for all. I call on the LGUs to continue your active participation in this initiative,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.

Una nang kinumpirma ng Department of Health na isang 33 anyos na lalaki ang nagpositibo sa mpox.
