INILAHAD ni Vice President Sara Duterte ang kahalagahan ng mabuting pamamahala upang maresolba ang gera.

“In my experience in politics, I have realized that the antidote to war is good governance. And good governance breeds public trust,” sabi ni Duterte sa Annual Kusog Mindanaw Conference sa Davao City.

Nakasama ni Duterte sa conference ang mga opisyal ng iba’t ibang ahensya, Mindanao-based non-government organizations, civic society groups, at development stakeholders.

Ang Kusog Mindanaw ay isang organisasyon sa Mindanao kung sa pinag-uusapan ang mga kailangang gawin sa pag-unlad ng Mindanao.

Si Duterte ang pinakamataas na opisyal ng gobyerno na dumalo sa Kusog Mindanaw na itinayo 28 taon na ang nakakaraan.

Sa kanyang talumpati ay kinilala ni Duterte ang 1996 peace agreement sa pagitan ng Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) at gobyerno sa ilalim ni dating Pangulong Fidel V. Ramos, at ang Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro na pinirmahan sa pagitan ng Moro Islamic Liberation Front at gobyerno sa panunungkulan ni dating Pangulong Benigno Aquino noong 2014 na nagdala ng kapayapaan sa Mindanao.

“Harvest time — peace time — is a good time for us. It allows the government to address problems that, if not given appropriate attention, could be exploited by terror groups to foment anger and incite people to resist the government, resort to violence and join their cause,” sabi ng Ikalawang Pangulo.

Binigyan-diin naman ni Duterte ang pangangailangan na magbantay upang mapanatili ang tinatamasang kapayapaan.

Kinilala rin ni Duterte ang mga nagsakripisyo para magkaroon ng kapayapaan sa Mindanao.

“The seeds of peace that you have planted all these years, the seeds of peace watered by the blood of Filipino martyrs who fought against each other, the seeds of peace nurtured by your sacrifices and bravery and that undying fire I see in your eyes — they have grown and their flowers now in bloom,” sabi pa ni Duterte. “You have all the reasons to be proud of the tremendous job that you have done for Mindanao and your fellow Mindanaoans.”

Ibinunyag din ni Duterte na mayroong plano ang Department of Education na isama ang National Culture of Peace sa kurikulum upang maipaunawa ang kahalagahan ng kalayaan at ang pangangailangan na proteksyunan ito.
