ISANG panukala na prayoridad na maisabatas ng administrasyong Marcos ang inaprubahan ng Kamara de Representantes sa ikatlo at huling pagbasa.

Sa botong 258 pabor na boto, inaprubahan ng Kamara ang House Bill 6557 o ang Magna Carta for Barangay Health Workers (BHWs).

“In line with the country’s commitment to accomplish health indicator target under United Nations sustainable development goals, the State shall adopt policies that promote the welfare and well-being of barangay health workers who are the forefront of the delivery of health care at the grassroots level, and effectively harness their potential as partners I n development,” sabi sa HB 6557.

Sa ilalim ng panukala ay bibigyan ng insentibo ang mga BHW gaya ng buwanang honoraria na hindi bababa sa P3,000, hazard allowance na P1,000 kada buwan, subsistence allowance para sa pagkain na P100 at transportation allowance na P1,000 kada buwan.

Mayroon ding P10,000 gratuity cash incentive ang mga BHW na nakapagserbisyo ng hindi bababa sa 15 taon.

Ang mga BHW ay bibigyan din ng 20 porsyentong diskuwento gaya ng Expanded Senior Citizens Act.

Ang mga BHW ay bibigyan din ng insurance coverage at iba pang benepisyo sa ilalim ng Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).
