MAGPAPADALA ang Marcos administration ng tulong sa Turkey na sinalanta ng magnitude 7.8 na lindol noong Lunes.

Ayon kay Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang contingent para sa search, rescue, and relief operation ay aalis sa Pebrero 8.

“We have organized a group of about 85 personnel together with some goods… Ang hinahanap sa atin ay mga blanket, mga winter clothing dahil siyempre ‘yung mga nasiraan ng bahay sa Turkey ay wala na silang matirahan. They’re exposed so they need all of these things,” ani Pangulong Marcos.

“So we are organizing it already and I already have the assurance also of the Turkish [Airlines] that they will be the ones to bring our people and our equipment and our goods to, I suppose, to Ankara first and then to be distributed properly in Turkey,” sabi pa ng Pangulo.

Magpapadala rin umano ang Pilipinas ng mga engineer at health worker para tulungan ang mga biktima ng lindol.

“So lahat, ‘yung engineering, mayroong pinapadala tayong mga engineer, mayroon tayong pinapadalang health workers, and of course the goods that we feel that they will need,” dagdag pa ni Pangulong Marcos.

Ang contingent ay manggagaling umano sa Office of Civil Defense (OCD), Department of Health (DOH), Philippine Army, Philippine Air Force (PAF) at Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

Ang ilang tauhan ng MMDA at DOH na kasama sa contingent ay nakasama umano sa ipinadala sa Japan at Haiti matapos ang malakas na lindol doon ilang taon na ang nakakaraan.
