IREREKOMENDA ng House Committee on Ethics and Privileges ang pagpapataw ng mas mabigat na parusa laban kay Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo Teves Jr. na nauna ng sinuspendi ng 60-araw matapos na hindi umuwi sa bansa kahit paso na ang travel authority nito.

Ayon sa chairperson ng komite na si Rep. Felimon Espares si Teves ay papatawan ng parusa alinsunod sa Rule 20, Section 142 Substitute A at B ng Code of Conduct at dahil sa kanyang disorderly behavior.

“We exhausted discussions on this because this is not an easy decision for the committee and we need to ensure the protection of the members of the House of Representatives,” ani Espares.

Ang magiging rekomendasyon ng komite ay kanilang ipadadala sa plenaryo ng Kamara upang aprubahan at maging epektibo.

Ang botohan para sa rekomendasyon ng komite ay maaari umanong mangyari bago ang sine die adjournment sa Mayo 31.
