MAHIGIT sa 1,600 na binubuo ng mga benepisyaryo ng pabahay at iba pa mula sa kalapit na komunidad ang lumahok kamakailan lang sa People’s Caravan ng National Housing Authority (NHA) na ginanap sa Covered Court/Multi-Purpose Center, Guardians’ Hill AFP/PNP Housing Project, Upper London, Barangay Bawing, General Santos City.

Isang inisyatiba ni NHA General Manager Joeben A. Tai, ang People’s Caravan: “Serbisyong Dala ay Pag-Asa” ay naglalayong magbigay ng mga mahahalagang produkto at serbisyo mula sa pampubliko at pribadong sektor patungo sa mga resettlement sites ng ahensya upang matiyak ang kaginhawaan at sustenableng pamumuhay.

Sa patnubay ni GM Tai, pinangunahan ni NHA Assistant General Manager Alvin S. Feliciano ang programa, na sinuportahan ng ilang opisyal tulad nila NHA Region 12 Manager Engr. Zenaida M. Cabiles, NHA R12-General Santos City/Koronadal/South Cotabato/Sarangani District Office Officer-in-Charge (OIC) Engr. Fritzie M. Punzalan, General Santos City Mayor Lorelie G. Pacquiao, Lone Representative Cong. Shirlyn Bañas-Nograles, maging ng mga kinatawan mula sa mga partner-agencies ng ahensya at lokal na pamahalaan ng Bawing.

Tinangkilik ng mga benepisyaryo ang iba’t ibang produkto at serbisyo na inialok ng halos 25 na government at private institutions, tulad ng mga basic registration services mula sa Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) at PhilSys para sa pag-iisyu ng birth certificates, certificates of no marriage, at National ID; Philippine National Police (PNP) para sa police clearance; National Bureau of Investigation para sa NBI clearance; at pag-verify ng members profile at pag-iisyu ng mga ID na handog ng PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG Fund at Social Security Services (SSS).

Sa aspeto ng health at hygiene, nakatanggap ang mga benepisyaryo ng libreng serbisyong medikal, dental, at iba pa, tulad ng HIV counseling, family planning commodities, gupit, maintenance medicines, immunizations para sa mga batang 1 taon at pababa, x-ray, chronic kidney disease test, at emergency medical response mula sa Department of Health (DOH), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine Charity and Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) na naghandog din ng ChariTimba, at City Health Office ng General Santos.

Sinamantala rin ng mga dumalo ang pagkakataong matuto ng gawaing pang-negosyo at pangkabuhayan sa tulong ng Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) para sa orientation nito patungkol sa employment facilitation, DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) o Kabuhayan Program, at Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD); Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) para sa pagsusuri ng mga overseas employment, maging ang inquiries at e-registration ng Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) at Online Pre-Employment Orientation Seminar; Department of Science and Technology (DOST) para sa orientation on food safety/awareness at skills training demonstration; Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) para sa business consultancy orientation at online business name registration; Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) para sa skills training demonstration na may probisyon ng starter kits, maging ang renewal at issuance ng national certificate, at scholarship inquiries; Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) para sa oryentasyon sa pagbuo ng isang kooperatiba; at ang City Public Employment Services Office (PESO) na nagdaos ng isang job fair.

Kasama rin sa mga serbisyong ibinaba ay ang libreng legal counsel at libreng notary service mula sa Public Attorney’s Office (PAO); pagbebenta ng sariwa at abot-kayang farm-to-market na ani sa pamamagitan ng KADIWA on Wheels, at pamamahagi ng mga seedlings mula sa Department of Agriculture (DA) at Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR); pamamahagi ng 1,500 food packs at orientation sa SLP at AICS program mula sa Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD); pagbibigay ng theoretical driving course/basic training sa ligtas na pagmamaneho at pamamahagi ng plate number para sa mga rehistradong motorista mula sa Land Transportation Office (LTO); libreng Wi-Fi service para sa mga aktibidad at training-orientation ukol sa digital service at cybersecurity awareness mula sa Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT); libreng kape, enhanced cookies at nutribun mula sa DTI at DOST, at logistical support mula sa Office of the City Mayor, Rep. Bañas, at Bawing-LGU.

Nakatakda namang isagawa ng NHA ang huling caravan nito ngayong taon, o ang ika-37 na caravan simula taong 2023, para sa mga benepisyaryo ng ahensya sa Iligan City sa huling bahagi ng buwang ito.

Samantala, isa sa mga tampok ng kaganapan sa nasabing programa ay ang ceremonial awarding ng mga Transfer Certificate of Title (TCT) sa 3 pamilya. Ang bawat benepisyaryo ay bahagi ng mga pamilyang may miyembrong dating tauhan ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP)/Philippine National Police (PNP) na napatay sa labanan o operasyon, na ipinatupad sa ilalim ng Comprehensive Social Benefits Program (CSBP) at MC 2733 ng ahensya.
