NP nagpahayag ng suporta kay Romualdez bilang susunod na Speaker
PORMAL ng inihayag ng mga kasapi ng Nationalista Party (NP) ang kanilang solidong pagsuporta kay House Majority Leader at Leyte 1st Dist. Rep. Martin G. Romualdez bilang susunod na House Speaker sa ilalim ng papasok na 19th Congress.
Ang pagpapahayag ng pagsuporta ng mga miyembro ng NP sa Kamara de Representantes ay naganap matapos mag “courtesy call” ang mga NP congressmen kay Romualdez para pormal ng ipahayag ang kanilang solidong suporta sa kaniya bilang susunod na lider ng Mababang Kapulungan.
Kabilang sa mga mambabatas na nakipagkita kay Fomualdez ay sina Reps. Camille Villar ng Las Piñas at Eleandro Jesus Madrona ng Romblon. Kasama din sina incoming Ilocos Norte Rep. Sandro Marcos, anak ni presumptive President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., incoming Iloilo Rep. Ferjenel Biron, at presumptive Sen. Mark Villar.
Nagpahayag din ng suporta para kay Romualdez bilang susunod na House Speaker ang iba pang partido political sa Kamara. Kabilang dito ang NP, PDP-Laban, Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD), Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP), National Unity Party (NUP), Liberal Party (LP) at Party-list Coalition Foundation, Inc. (PCFI).
“I want to express my most sincere gratitude to all these political parties and their members. I am humbled and greatly honored by their statements of support and encouragement. I assure them that I will do my best to serve them well,” sabi ni Romualdez.
“We will work as one in pursuing this agenda and putting in place measures that would get us out of the COVID-19 pandemic and those that would sustain our nascent economic growth,” dagdag pa ni Romualdez.
