Hinangaan umano ng mga miyembro ng Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) ang naging pag-unlad ng ekonomiya ng bansa sa ikatlong quarter ng 2022.

Ito ang sinabi ni Speaker Martin G. Romualdez na nakasama ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa katatapos na ASEAN Summit na ginanap sa Cambodia.

“Natutuwa ang kapwa nating ASEAN nations kasi nakita nila, ‘Uy, yung Pilipinas ay–the economy is growing. Lumalakas na ‘yung recovery ninyo while some are not doing as well,” sabi ni Romualdez sa panayam ng mga mamamahayag sa isinagawang post-birthday celebration sa Batasan Complex.

Sa kabila umano ng epekto ng pandemya at gera sa pagitan ng Ukraine at Russia ay nagawang umangat ng ekonomiya ng Pilipinas.

“In the ASEAN, as you know, in the world is doing the best in terms of economic growth and recovery. And they are now seeing–when I say ‘they’, it’s not just the ASEAN but our partner Nations are seeing that the Philippines, with its growth targets, being actually achieved on the higher side of the spectrum,” dagdag pa ni Romualdez.

Binanggit din ni Romualdez ang pahayag ni House Committee on Ways and Means chairperson Joey Salceda na ang pag-angat ng ekonomiya ng bansa ay hindi tsamba.

“As you know we are well into the fourth month of the presidency so it’s apparent that the direction that PBBM’s economic managers, upon his instructions, are already bearing fruit. We intend to help and support this. The growth is there as evidenced by the GDP,” ani Romualdez.

Ang paparating na APEC Summit ay magiging oportunidad din umano upang hikayatin ang mga dayuhan na mamuhunan sa bansa upang mas mabilis na umangat ang ekonomiya.
