Pagpapatibay ng relasyon ng PHL at Vietnam isinulong ng Kamara
ISANG resolusyon ang pinatibay ng Kamara de Representantes na naglalayong patatagin ang ugnayan ng Pilipinas at Vietnam sa pamamagitan ng pagpapalakas ng Philippine-Vietnam Parliamentarians’ Friendship Society.
“To further strengthen the long-standing friendship, the Philippines and Vietnam have pledged to continue the exchange of visits by their respective parliamentarians,” sabi sa House Resolution (HR) 571.
Sa ilalim ng panukala ay magtatalaga ng mga opisyal at miyembro sa Philippine-Vietnam Parliamentarians’ Friendship Society ang dalawang bansa.
Ang magiging chairperson ng Friendship Society ay ang chair ng House Committee on Inter-Parliamentary Relations and Diplomacy; at ang vice-chairperson ay ang chair ng Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Ang mga miyembro naman ng Society ay ang mga Deputy Speakers at chairpersons ng Committees on Economic Affairs, on Trade and Industry, on Agriculture, on National Defense, at on the West Philippine Sea, at ang mga vice-chair of the Committee on Inter-Parliamentary Relations and Diplomacy at iba pang itatalaga ng Speaker.
“It is the mutual desire of the Philippines and Vietnam to deepen and broaden their joint efforts towards the attainment of regional peace and prosperity, foster mutual understanding and cooperation and further strengthen the ties of friendship and solidarity between them through the friendship society,” sabi pa ng resolusyon.
Ang resolusyon ay akda nina Speaker Martin G. Romualdez, Majority Leader Manuel Jose “Mannix” M. Dalipe, Minority Leader Marcelino C. Libanan, Senior Deputy Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander A. Marcos, at Tingog Party-list Reps. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez at Jude A. Acidre.
Noong Hulyo 12, 1976 nag-umpisa ang diplomatic relations ng Pilipinas at Vietnamn matapos na pirmahan ni dating Philippine Foreign Minister Carlos P. Romulo at Vietnamese Vice Prime Minister for Foreign Affairs Phan Hien ang isang joint communique.
Noong Marso 18, 1993 ay pinagtibay naman ng Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso ang HR No. 30 na nag-oorganisa ng Philippine-Vietnam Parliamentarians’ Friendship Society.
“Among the ten (10) member countries of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), the Philippines and Vietnam have developed a special relation through the years anchored on shared goals, common visions, and mutual interests for the benefit of their peoples and towards a genuinely peaceful and productive path in regional cooperation,” sabi pa sa resolusyon.
Binigyan-diin sa resolusyon ang kahalagahan na mapaganda ang relasyon ng Pilipinas sa mga bansang kasapi ng ASEAN.
