PINAPLANO na ang pagpupulong nina Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at US President Joe Biden sa Washington, ayon kay Philippine Ambassador to the United States Jose Manuel Romualdez.

Sinabi ni Romualdez na naghahanap ng schedule na magtutugma para magtagpo ang dalawang Pangulo.

“President Biden has indicated that he definitely would like to see President Marcos come to Washington DC and President Marcos said that he would definitely would like to go to Washington. Now it’s a question of identifying the dates. Hopefully within the next month or so we’ll be able to identify the dates when President Marcos would be able to come to Washington DC for an official or state visit,” sabi ni Romualdez.

Kung matutuloy ang state visit ni Marcos sa US, sinabi ni Romualdez na ito ang magiging unang pagdalaw ng Pangulo ng Pilipinas sa Amerika sa nakaraang 19 na taon.

Noong 2003 si dating Pangulong Gloria Macapagal Arroyo ay nag-state visit aa Washington samantalang si dating Pangulong Benigno Aquino III ay pumunta roon para sa isang official visit noong 2012.

Nagkaroon ng informal meeting sina Marcos at Biden sa United Nations General Assembly sa New York noong Setyembre 2022.
