NAGPAALALA ang Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) sa publiko na iparehistro na ang kanilang mga SIM card dahil wala umanong extension ang deadline na itinakda sa Abril 26.

“The DICT emphasizes that there will be no extension for the deadline, and strict implementation will be in effect. Failure to register will result in the deactivation of SIM cards, rendering them unusable for voice calls, text messaging, and mobile data services,” sabi ng DICT sa isang pahayag.

Umabot na sa 62.17 milyon ang SIM card na nairehistro o 36.79% ng tinatayang 168.97 milyong subscriber sa buong bansa.

Mayroon na umanong nakapagparehistro sa DITO Telecommunication Corp. na 4,711,456; ang Globe Telecom Inc. ay nakapagtala naman ng 26,348,304; at ang Smart Communications Inc. ay may 31,110,508.

“While the progress in SIM card registration has been encouraging, we must not lose momentum. As we celebrate Easter Sunday, we urge all unregistered citizens to take this opportunity to register their SIMs. With only 17 days left before the deadline, it is crucial to take immediate action to prevent the inconvenience of deactivation. Together, let us strive for a more connected and secure Philippines,” sabi ni DICT Secretary Ivan John Uy.
