Tingog Party List isinulong pagtatag ng Online Library

NAIS ng TINGOG Party List Group sa Kamara de Representantes na maisulong ang “digitalization” at modernisasyon sa library ng mga pang-publikong paaralan.

Ito ay sa pamamagitan ng panukalang batas na inihain nina TINGOG Party List Cong. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez at Jude A Acidre sa Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso na maglalayong maging “digitalized” ang library sa lahat ng pang-publikong paaralan sa bansa na tatawaging Philippine Online Library.

Sinabi nina Romualdez at Acidre na ang Department of Education (DepEd) at Department of Information Communication and Technology (DICT) ang siyang mamamahala sa mga Online Library sa mga public schools.

“House Bill (HB) No. 1582 or the proposed Philippine Online Library Act provides that the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) jointly manage the Online Library,” ayon kay Romualdez

Ipinaliwanag naman ni Acidre na “This bill seeks to establish the Philippine Online Library and mandate the digitizing of all textbooks necessary for the public education of elementary and secondary students to ensure access to and availability of learning materials and references”.

“The COVID-19 pandemic has manifested the significance of digital technology, especially in the lives of children, serving as an important tool for their education, socialization, expression, and inclusion. Schools shifted to online learning and offices and workplaces moved to remote work,” Sabi pa nina Romualdez at Acidre.
