PINURI ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez ang paglagda sa isang kasunduan na magbibigay daan sa pagtatayo ng kauna-unahang College of Medicine sa Caraga region.

Si Speaker Romualdez ay isa sa mga opisyal na naging saksi sa makasaysayang paglagda sa Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) sa pagitan ng Caraga State University (CSU) at Davao Regional Medical Center.

“This Memorandum of Agreement is more than a document; it’s a promise—a promise to our people that we are dedicated to advancing medical education and healthcare services in our region,” ani Speaker Romualdez.

Ginanap ang makasaysayang MOA signing sa Romualdez Hall ng Batasan Complex sa Quezon City.

Nangako si Speaker Romualdez na susuportahan ng Kamara de Representantes ang inisyatiba sa pamamagitan ng paglalaan ng pondo para rito.

“In this noble endeavor, the role of the House of Representatives is crucial. It is our responsibility to ensure that this pioneering project is endowed with the appropriate resources and support,” sabi pa ni Romualdez.

“Our commitment is to advocate and secure the requisite budget, ensuring that this vision is not hindered by financial constraints and can achieve its full potential to benefit our society,” dagdag pa nito.

Ang mga lumagda ay sina CSU President Dr. Rolyn Daguil, Davao Regional Medical Center Chief Dr. Bryan Dalid, at Agusan Del Norte 1st District Rep. Jose “Joboy” Aquino II.

Ang iba pang opisyal na naroon ay sina Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Antonio Lagdameo, Jr., Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa, Majority Leader Manuel Jose “Mannix” Dalipe, at Senior Deputy Speaker Aurelio “Dong” Gonzales, Jr.

“I feel deeply privileged to be part of this groundbreaking initiative, and I look forward to seeing the waves of positive change it will bring to our region,” sabi pa ng lider ng Kamara na may 311 miyembro.

Sa ilalim ng MOA, ang CSU at DRMC ay magsasama upang turuan ang mga medical student ng CSU sa loob ng limang taon.

Ang CSU ay magtatayo ng College of Medicine na magbibigay ng Doctor of Medicine program.

Sa kasalukuyan ay walang tertiary training hospital sa Caraga kaya kakailangan nito ang tulong ng DRMC, ang pinakamalapit na ospital na matatagpuan sa
Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
