Inaprubahan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang rekomendasyon ng Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC) na palawigin ng limang taon ang Comprehensive Automotive Resurgence Strategy (CARS) program.

“The extension of CARS for five years will continue to provide incentives and support for manufacturers that meet specific requirements in terms of investment, production, and technology development,” sabi ng PSAC.

Ang CARS ay makatutulong din umano sa pagbibigay ng mapapsukang trabaho ng mga Pilipino.

Ang CARS program ay mula sa isang Executive Order No. 182 in 2015, na nagbibigay ng insentibo sa mga kompanya na makakapagbenta ng 200,000 partikular na sasakyan na ginawa sa bansa.

“CARS has demonstrated its effectiveness and value as a high-end manufacturing operation which has greatly helped in the creation of jobs, transfer technology, and boost global competitiveness by supporting domestic auto manufacturing and stimulating investment,” saad pa ng PSAC.

Ang Mirage ng Mitsubishi at Vios ng Toyota ay kasali sa CARS program.
