IDINEKLARA ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang Agosto 8 hanggang 14 bilang Philippine Space Week.

Layunin ng deklarasyon, na nakasaad sa Proclamation 302 na palawakin ang kamalayan ng mga Pilipino sa kalawakan.

“There is a need to promote space awareness, celebrate the significant contributions of Filipinos worldwide in the field of space science, and espouse the value, benefits and impacts of space science and technology applications on the lives of Filipinos,” sabi sa Proclamation 302.

“For this purpose, the Philippine Space Agency (PhiSA) is directed to promote the observance of the Philippine Space Week, and identify the programs, projects and activities for the yearly celebration thereof,” sabi pa sa proklamasyon

Sa ilalim ng proklamasyon, ang lahat ng ahensya ng gobyerno kasama ang government-owned or -controlled corporations at state universities and colleges ay dapat lumahok sa Philippine Space Week.

Ang deklarasyon ay kaugnay ng Republic Act (RA) 11363 o ang Philippine Space Act na naisabatas noong 2019.
