TUMAAS ang ranking ng Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) sa most internationally connected airports in the world.

Ang NAIA na kilala sa International Air Transport Association (IATA) code na MNL ay nasa ika-15 puwesto sa top 50 global airport megahubs mula sa ika-19 puwesto noong 2019 ayon sa 2023 Megahubs Index ng OAG.

Ang OAG ay nangungunang provider ng digital flight information, intelligence and analytics ng mga paliparan.

Nanguna sa listahan ang London Heathrow Airport ng United Kingdom.

Ang MNL nman ang ika-anim sa top international megahubs sa Asia Pacific region, sumunod sa KUL (Malaysia), HND (Japan), ICN (Republic of Korea), BKK (Thailand), at SIN (Singapore).

Ang Philippine Airlines naman ang dominant air carrier sa MNL na may hawak ng 32 porsyento ng mga flights.

Lumalapag at umaalis sa MNL ang may 40 international carriers na nagseserbisyo sa 58 international destinations.

Ang MNL ay nasa-ikatlong puwesto naman ng top 25 low-cost carrier airport megahubs sunod sa KUL (Malaysia) at ICN (Republic of Korea).

“NAIA being the country’s main gateway makes it incumbent upon us, as the airport authority, to expand the destinations Filipinos, as well as our guests, can fly to and from MNL,” dagdag pa ni CO.

Madaragdagan pa umano ang mga international flight sa NAIA sa pagbubukas ng HK Express ng Manila-Hong Kong sa Oktobre 13, at ng United Airlines para sa Manila- San Francisco simula Oktobre 30.
