LALO umanong titibay ang relasyon ng Pilipinas at Estados Unidos sa pagbisita sa bansa ni US Vice President Kamala Harris.

Ito ang sinabi ni Speaker Martin G. Romualdez sa pagdating ni Harris sa bansa na sinamahan ng kanyang mister na si Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff.

“The visit of US Vice President Kamala Harris is a welcome development as it would serve to reinforce the enduring alliance, partnership, and friendship between the Philippines and the United States,” ani Romualdez.

Kasama si Romualdez sa mga opisyal na sumalubong kay Harris sa pagpunta nito sa Malacañang noong Lunes upang makipagpulong kay Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

Naniniwala si Romualdez na maitutulak ni Pangulong Marcos ang interes ng bansa sa pakikipag-usap nito kay Harris.

“I am confident that President Marcos will assess any possible new security arrangements with Washington with our national interest as the paramount consideration and consistent with his foreign policy of being ‘friend to all and enemy to none,” dagdag pa ni Romualdez.

Maaari rin umanong makatuwang ng Pilipinas ang Amerika sa modernisasyon ng Armed Forces of the Philippines.
