Remulla cites pivotal role of prosecutors in criminal justice
JUSTICE Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” C. Remulla personally administered the oath of office to the 154 newly-appointed and promoted prosecutors of the Department of Justice (DOJ) at the Intramuros Convention Center in Manila last May 14, 2025.
Specifically, 19 Prosecution Attorneys (PA) were elevated to the rank of Prosecutor, 74 prosecutors promoted and 61 new prosecution appointments which include, among others, Regional Prosecutor Louie Doligosa of Region VI.
This move is pursuant to the current administration’s Bagong Pilipinas leadership style in harmony with the DOJ’s commitment to providing Real Justice for All in Real Time and achieving its “zero backlog policy” in the disposition of cases.
The event was attended by key DOJ officials, namely, Undersecretary Fredderick A. Vida, Assistant Secretary Majken Anika S. Gran-Ong, Prosecutor General Richard Anthony D. Fadullon and Regional Prosecutor Rommel Baligod of Region II, who, each addressed the participants.
In his keynote address, Secretary Remulla underscored the pivotal role of prosecutors in the realm of criminal justice, urging each one of them to become a game-changer in upholding the rule of law.
“We warmly welcome each one of you to our DOJ family and from this day on, all of you will be part of our mission to ensuring that justice will be implemented efficiently and fairly for every Filipino,” Secretary Remulla told the attendees.
Meanwhile, simultaneous with the on-boarding ceremonies for the newly-appointed and promoted prosecutors are the video presentations on Comprehensive Prosecutors’ Assimilation (COMPASS) and Human Resources System spearheaded by the NPS Special Projects Division (SPD) and the DOJ Personnel Division, respectively, in a bid to familiarize the attendees with the work processes implemented within the DOJ.
The ceremony concluded with the closing remarks of Undersecretary Vida.
