INALMAHAN ni House Assistant Majority Leader at Zambales 1st District Rep. Jay Khonghun ang paratang na political harassment kay Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. kaugnay ng nakanselang peace rally ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte sa Bustos, Bulacan noong Linggo.

Ayon kay Khonghun, miyembro ng Young Guns sa Kamara, unfair kay Pangulong Marcos na paratangan ng naturang akusasyon.

“Even if we rewind it from the time President Marcos ran his campaign in 2022, he was even singled out among the candidates for not attending debates and the like, but he just went on and let his critics be, he just let them do what they think was right for them,” saad ni Khonghun.

“How much more now that he is already President? It’s the last thing his administration needs – political polarization. Remember, he and now Vice President Sara Duterte even ran on the theme of unity, which they coined as UniTeam,” punto pa ng mambabatas.

Ipinunto ni Khonghun na hindi nagpapa-apekto ang Pangulo sa samaan ng loob nina Vice President Sara Duterte at maybahay nitong si First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos.

“Every administration has its own share of hits and misses, and perhaps this government is no exception. But to say that the national government is engaged in harassment is simply unfair,” wika pa ni Khonghun sabay sabi na nakapagsagawa naman ng rally ang kampo ni Duterte sa Cebu, Davao at Tagum.

“What the President has been repeating is for government to unite in order to achieve the goals that we all want,” diin ni Khonghun matapos pasinungalingan ang alegasyon ni dating presidential spokesperson Harry Roque na ang nakatakdang “Majisug Peace Rally” o “Brave Peace Rally” nitong Abril 28 ay hindi itinuloy upang hindi magkaroon ng gulo.

“What we’re saying is that while you may disagree with some policies of the government, you can always demonstrate your gripes in a very decent and respectful way,” ani Khonghun sabay hikayat sa mga taga-suporta ng dating Pangulong Duterte na itigil na ang paninira sa pamahalaan.

“It’s time to unite, we have so many problems to solve – from inflation to conflicts in the Middle East and Europe,” aniya.

Nagsilbi si Roque sa gabinete ni Duterte. Tumakbo ito noong May 2022 senatorial election sa ilalim ng Uniteam ni Pangulong Marcos ngunit natalo.
