ITATAGUYOD ng Philippine Sports Commission ang inaabangang Safe Sport Workshop para sa National Sports Associations simula April 19-20.

Sa pangangasiwa ni Commissioner Olivia “Bong” Coo, ang naturang two-day workshop ay naglalayong suportahan ang IOC at ang kanilang misyon na “to place athletes at the heart of the Olympic Movement, wherein the IOC has been committed to developing programmes and initiatives to ensure that every athlete can train and compete in a safe sporting environment – one that is fair, equitable and free from all forms of harassment and abuse.”

“Inaanyayahan namin ang lahat ng National Sports Associations, pati ang mfa sports sa ilalim ng Philippine Paralympic Committee na lumahok sa workshop,” pahayag ni Coo, na siya ding PSC oversight for coaches and athletes welfare.

Ayon kay Coo, maaaring magpadala ang mga NSA ng member ng board of trustees official, coach, at atleta.para lumahok sa Safe Sport Workshop.

Sa kasalukuyan, higit 40 NSAs ang nakapag-palista na para sa workshop.

“PSC recognised and identified the urgent need to educate the sports community on safeguarding and hopefully jumpstart the policy making for each NSA that attends,” pahayag pa ni Coo.

“It’s about time we take the training and education to another level, Afterall, safeguarding is everyone’s business,” dugtong niya.
