“For a few days now, I wondered if I should post this.I am so very tired of saying “goodbye” to people who mean so much to me,” bungad ni Sharon.
“But I thought it would go against my heart if I didn’t. Tito Tony was not just my friend. He was my mentor, my (so far) one & only movie co-producer (for Robin Padilla’s movie ‘La Visa Loca,’) & one of the very few people I dreamed I would grow up to be like, especially as a boss & businessman,” aniya.
Pagre-recall pa niya, si Mr. G rin daw ang nagsulat ng memorable line niya sa pelikula niyang “PS I Love You” na “Love should not be a heavy feeling. It should not make you suffer. Love should make you happy. It’s a smile in the heart, it makes you come alive. Love makes you want to fly.”
Patuloy pa ni Mega, “I filmed countless tv commercials at his Unitel Studios, including my very first one, Lemolime, when I was 13.
“He left Viva after ‘To Love Again,’ & I really missed him and his huge but quiet presence. In 2003, he offered me the role of Stella Mate in Unitel Pictures & Mark Meily’s ‘Crying Ladies.’ It quickly became one of my most favorites.”
Inalala rin ni Sharon ang pagpo-produce nila ni Mr. G ng pelikula, ang “La Vida Loca” na pinagbidahan ni Robin Padilla. Balak nga raw nilang mag-co-produce pa ng maraming movies.
“Then we produced “La Visa Loca” together, & planned to do more, including a groundbreaking movie for Tito Dolphy, grand, ala ‘Forrest Gump,’” kwento ni Mega.
“Tito Tony & I believed in showbiz, in its most beloved stars, as well as those deserving of more attention. Like stuntmen & women. But,our careers got us both busy, & our conversations became few & far between.
“Both the movie & advertising industries have lost a most decent, good-hearted man they are so very blessed to have known,” pagbibigay-pugay pa ni Sharon sa kanyang mentor.
“I have lost a Tito, a teacher, a mentor, advisor, & FRIEND. I will always, always miss you, my beloved Tito Tony.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you have done for me, taught me, given me. I will work hard to keep on making you proud of me & what little contributions I may give to showbiz. But especially in the way I live my life. I will always be your big little girl. I love you with all my heart, & am forever grateful. May you rest wonderfully in God our Father’s loving arms. Til I see you again,” ang mensahe ng pamamaalam ni Sharon.
Sumakabilang-buhay si Mr. G nitong March 24 sa edad na 79. Ang kanyang pagyao ay kinumpirma ng kanyang pamilya through a social media post.
