Speaker Romualdez binati si King Charles III; umaasang lalalim pa ugnayan ng PH-UK

BINATI ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez qng bagong koronang hari ng United Kingdom of Great Britain at Northern Ireland, na si King Charles III at si Queen Camila.

“Today (Saturday), we celebrate with the people of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and the rest of the world on the coronation of King Charles III and the Queen Consort, his wife, now Queen Camila,” sabi ni Speaker Romualdez, na kasama ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. Sa UK.

“We are deeply honored to be witnesses to an event that is a rare piece of world history, and we pray for a deeper and more meaningful relationship between the Philippines and the United Kingdom for years to come,” dagdag pa ni Romualdez.

Si King Charles III ay kinoronahan noong Sabado, walong buwan matapos nitong umupo sa trono matapoa pumanaw si Queen Elizabeth II noong Setyembre.

Ginanap ang seremonya ng koronasyon sa Westminster Abbey sa London at pinangasiwaan ng pinakamataas na opisyal ng Simbahan ng England, ang Archbishop ng Canterbury.

“As we watch with awe, delight and an enduring sense of optimism, we wish King Charles and Queen Camila the best of health and the best of love! May His and Her Majesty’s reign be guided by faith, love, integrity and equality, following in the footsteps of Queen Elizabeth, whose long and fruitful rule was described as ‘era-defining,” sabi pa ni Speaker Romualdez.

“And may your reign also bring people together, provide prosperity to all of your subjects and inspire divine guidance to your rule. Congratulations to the new monarchs of the United Kingdom!” dagdag pa ng lider ng Kamara.

Kasama si Speaker Romualdez sa.delegasyon ni Pangulong Marcos at dumating sila isang araw bago ang koronasyon.

Sila ay sinalubong ng kinatawan ni King Charles III at Philippine Ambassador to the UK Teodoro “Teddy Boy” Locsin Jr.

Hindi sinayang ni Pangulong Marcos ang pagkakataon at ininspeksyon nito ang London Gatwick Airport para magkaroon ng bagong ideya kung papaano mapagaganda ang mga airport ng Pilipinas at ang sistema nito sa mga dumarating na turista.

Nakausap din ng Pangulo si G. Bayo Ogunlesi, chairman ng US-based Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), isang kompanya na nais mamuhunan sa bansa partikular sa sektor ng enerhiya, transportasyon, at digital infrastructure.
