NAKIRAMAY si Speaker Martin G. Romualdez sa mga Katoliko, mahal sa buhay at mga taong naging inspirasyon ni Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, na pumanaw sa edad na 95.

Ayon kay Romualdez siya at ang kanyang pamilya ay nakikidalamhati sa pagpanaw ni Pope Benedict XVI o Joseph Ratzinger.

“We mourn with the rest of the world on the passing of a great leader of the Catholic faith, Pope Benedict XVI,” sabi ni Romualdez.

Bilang isang bansa na maraming Katoliko, sinabi ni Romualdez na nakikiisa ang Pilipinas sa pakikidalamhati sa pagpanaw ni Pope Benedict na inilarawan nitong “endeared and very charismatic man of faith.”

“But with this grief comes hope and joy as we celebrate his life, his principles, and his legacy,” ani Romualdez. “And may we all find comfort in the thought that Pope Benedict XVI is now in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father.”
