PINURI ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez nitong Sabado si Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. sa matagumpay na pag-alis ng Pilipinas sa grey list ng Paris-based Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

Ito’y isang tagumpay na magdadala ng benepisyo sa overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) sa pamamagitan ng mas mabilis at mas murang pagpapadala ng kanilang kita, aniya.

Binigyang-diin ni Speaker Romualdez ang malawak na positibong epekto ng paglabas ng bansa sa grey list, lalo na sa negosyo, mga mamumuhunan at OFWs.

“By restoring our standing in the global financial community, we are removing burdensome restrictions, reducing transaction costs, and allowing financial flows to move more efficiently. This is particularly good news for our OFWs, whose hard-earned remittances will now be processed faster and with lower fees,” ayon kay Speaker Romualdez.

Tinawag ng Speaker ang desisyong ito bilang isang landmark achievement para sa administrasyon ni Pangulong Marcos na nagpapatibay sa pangako ng bansa sa financial integrity, transparency at global economic leadership.

“The Philippines’ exit from the FATF grey list is a monumental victory for our economy and a resounding testament to our collective resolve to uphold the highest standards of financial governance. It restores global confidence in our financial institutions and opens the floodgates for greater investments, economic growth, and international partnerships,” pahayag ni Speaker Romualdez.

Napabilang ang Pilipinas sa FATF grey list noong Hunyo 2021 sa ilalim ng nakaraang administrasyon.

Binigyang-diin ng Speaker ang mahalagang papel na ginampanan ng House of Representatives sa pagsusulong ng mga reporma sa batas upang mapalakas ang anti-money laundering at counter-terrorism financing frameworks ng bansa, na naging pangunahing kondisyon para sa pag-alis ng Pilipinas sa listahan.

“We in the House worked closely with the Executive Branch, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC), and other key institutions to pass and implement crucial financial measures that paved the way for this success,” dagdag ni Speaker Romualdez.

Para sa mga negosyo, sinabi ni Speaker Romualdez na ang tagumpay na ito ay nagpapalakas ng kumpiyansa ng mga mamumuhunan, naghihikayat ng foreign direct investment (FDI) at nagpapalawig ng ugnayang pangkalakalan, na lalong nagpapatibay sa posisyon ng Pilipinas bilang isang premier economic hub sa rehiyon.

Kinilala rin ng Speaker ang matatag na pamumuno ni Pangulong Marcos, na naglabas ng Executive Order (EO) No. 33 noong 2023 bilang roadmap para sa pagtupad sa action plan ng FATF.

“This milestone underscores that Bagong Pilipinas is not just a vision—it is an era of decisive governance, where reforms are pursued with discipline, unity, and determination. Under President Marcos’ leadership, we have shown the world that the Philippines is ready to take its place among the most trusted economies,” idiniin ni Speaker Romualdez.

Tiniyak ni Speaker Romualdez na mananatiling mapagbantay ang House of Representatives sa pagpapanatili ng financial integrity ng bansa, upang hindi na muling mapabilang ang Pilipinas sa grey list at patuloy na mapalakas ang mga batas na susuporta sa economic resilience at inclusive growth.

“As we celebrate this achievement, we remain steadfast in our commitment to sound governance, fiscal discipline, and national progress. The House of Representatives will continue to champion reforms that secure our financial future and bring prosperity to every Filipino,” saad ni Speaker Romualdez.
