NAGBIGAY ng pag-asa sa umano’y mga biktima ang isasagawang imbestigasyon ng Senado kaugnay ng mga akusasyon laban sa televangelist na si Pastor Apollo Quiboloy at religious sect nitong Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC).

Ang imbestigasyon ng Senate committee on women, children, family relations and gender equality, na pinamumunuan ni Senate Deputy Minority Leader Risa Hontiveros, ay magsisimula sa Enero 23.

Ang imbestigasyon ay nag-ugat sa resolusyon na inihain ni Hontiveros kaugnay ng mga alegasyon laban kay Quiboloy gaya ng human trafficking, rape, at mga insidente ng sexual at physical abuse diumano.

Nagpasalamat si Arlene Caminong Stone, dating miyembro ng KOJC, kay Hontiveros dahil sa pagtugon sa kanilang hinihinging hustisya.

Sinabi ni Stone na handa itong makipagtulungan sa imbestigasyon ng Senado kasama ang iba pang dating miyembro ng KOJC. Si Stone ay nakabase na ngayon sa Minnesota.

“This is like a breath of fresh air for us because we’ve been waiting forever,” ani Stone.

Sa nagdaang mga taon ay nakikipag-ugnayan si Stone sa mga senador upang hilingin sa mga ito na magsagawa ng imbestigasyon laban kay Quiboloy.

“It is really hard to wait. The hardest thing here is waiting to complete the process. At the same time, it is also frustrating because there’s a lot of victims. Their lives have been paused because of the situation,” sabi ni Stone.

“In order for us to really find the justice that we are looking for we have to go through different avenues, that’s why I’m sending different emails to the Senate or even Congress but nobody really hear me,” dagdag pa nito.

Ayon kay Stone, nakikipag-ugnayan ito sa iba pang mga biktima kasama na ang mga nailigtas sa California noong 2020.

Sinabi ni Stone na marami ang handang tumestigo laban kay Quiboloy at KOJC.

“There are more and more victims coming out from their shell, and they are willing to give their stories,” sabi ni Stone.

Ayon pa sa kanya, handa ang mga biktima na tumestigo sa Pilipinas at sa Amerika kung saan nahaharap sa mga kaso si Quiboloy at KOJC.

Si Quiboloy ay wanted sa Federal Bureau of Investigation. Wala pang inaanunsyo kaugnay ng posibleng extradition ni Quiboloy sa US upang harapin nito ang kaso.

“But because of the situation, we can see it is not just us who are fighting against him, it’s the whole world. It’s the government so that gives us the confidence – that it’s ok for them to come out,” dagdag pa ni Stone.

Ibinasura ng abogado ni Quiboloy na si Atty. Ferdinand Topacio ang mga alegasyon laban sa kanyang mga kliyente.

Tinutulan din ni Topacio ang isasagawang imbestigasyon ng Senado.
